FIN KIDS FESTIVAL TOUR
OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2019
2019 CALL FOR ENTRIES NOW OPEN
FIN Kids began as ViewFinders, a week long film festival for young people and their families in 2002. Since then it has grown into an Atlantic Canada-wide youth initiative that brings the FIN experience to school groups and communities across the region.
Each year FIN Kids presents the best in regional, national and international films for youth, tackling issues from multiculturalism and community to sustainability and creativity. The program’s activities introduce students to the wonderful world of filmmaking through hands-on media workshops, and the FIN Kids Film Competition provides a platform for young filmmakers - a proven launching pad for the next generation of talent.
FIN Kids is the first step in a life full of experiencing and celebrating the art of film and filmmaking.

VIEWFINDERS SCHOOL TOUR
The ViewFinders: Atlantic Youth Film Festival was a huge success! This year’s ViewFinders Tour took place during October and November of the 2017-2018 school year, offering a FREE program of English and French language matinee features and short film programs for school groups, as well as several filmmaking and directing workshops for students.
The Tour kicked off the beginning of October in Halifax at the beginning for a two-day program at Dartmouth Crossing with hundreds of film enthusiasts. Charlottetown was our next stop where we were honoured to have our Acting Workshop for Grades 4-6 with legendary Atlantic director William MacGillivray teaching the next generation of local film talent. The Team then made their way to Saint John, bringing films and workshops to young filmmakers in New Brunswick. The ViewFinders Team then ventured to northern Cape Breton where they met with hundreds of students from Cape Breton-Victoria School Board who were eager to fill their day will films, workshops and popcorn! Yarmouth was the final stop where the Team was greeted with a very large contingent film-lovers and aspiring filmmakers who were very excited for their day of films and workshops to begin!
