SOS! It looks like “Mamma Nature” is going to have her way with tonight’s screening of MAMMA MIA! Unfortunately, due to the threat of thundershowers MAMMA MIA! will not be screening tonight as planned.

Normally we do not do rain dates for FIN Outdoor...but we know how excited everyone is for MAMMA MIA!, so we will be RESCHEDULING!

Join us for the rain date screening of MAMMA MIA! on Friday, August 16th at the Halifax Public Gardens for a night of singing, laughing, and dancing.

The 20th annual FIN Outdoor summer movie series is thrilled to present the “Summer of Sing-Alongs” this June and July. Enjoy four melodic musicals at the historic Halifax Public Gardens and screenings in both Yarmouth and West Pubnico for the most interactive FIN Outdoor yet. Costumes as your favourite musical movie characters are encouraged!

“To say we are excited about this year’s program would be a real understatement. Not only are these movies incredibly well loved, the opportunity to include the “sing-along” aspect makes FIN Outdoor more of an engaging community event than ever before,” says Wayne Carter, Executive Director at FIN. “We are so happy to have our friends at Pride Halifax part of this year’s program with two of our screenings happening during what is one of Halifax’s most celebratory cultural events of the year. These screenings are going to be F-U-N.”

All screenings at Halifax Public Gardens will include a COSTUME CONTEST! Dress up as your favourite movie character for the chance to WIN a full festival pass to FIN Atlantic International Film Festival, Sept 12th - 19th 2019.

Our friends at The Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites have partnered with FIN Outdoor to bring you the COUCH CONTEST! The winner and a guest will get the best seat in the garden! Contest will run for all Public Garden Screenings and will posted very Thursday on Social Media.

About FIN Outdoor

Who can resist a night under the stars with a classic movie and the smell of popcorn wafting through the air? Whether young or old, local or visiting, FIN Outdoor fits the bill for good times.

It’s outdoors. It’s movies. It’s an unforgettable experience!

Each summer for the past 19 years, from June to August, FIN Atlantic International Film Festival has delivered an entertaining outdoor film experience throughout Halifax – a larger-than-life inflatable screen showing classic movies under the open sky. With as many as 2000+ movie-goers coming together for each screening – all toting their lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and favourite company – this open-air cinema has a unique festival atmosphere that must be experienced first-hand.

While the program theme changes from one year to the next, the objective remains: to bring the community together; to enjoy the film viewing experience in unique outdoor settings; and to set the stage for the upcoming Atlantic International Film Festival.
