Imagination Theater Presents:

ABOUT THE SHOW: It's Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin'", "It's Raining on Prom Night", "Alone at the Drive-In Movie" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An 8-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals along with innumerable school and community productions place Grease among the world's most popular musicals.

Auditions will include: acting, singing and dancing. You must stay for the entire time.

Acting: Cold reading from the script (copies of the script available at the IT box office)

Singing: Prepare a song (one verse and chorus only) of a song from the show or another musical with a similar “feel”. All who audition need to participate in the singing audition EVEN if auditioning for a non-singing role.

Dancing: You will learn a simple dance combination which you will perform in a group. Wear clothes and shoes that you can dance in (no short skirts, boots, sandals or open toe shoes). All who audition need to participate in the dance audition EVEN if auditioning for a non-dance role.

Call backs: Additional reading from the script will be required. You may be asked to prepare a specific song from the show. Additional choreography may be taught (including partner dancing).
