DIRECTOR'S SALONS

Puccini’s MADAMA BUTTERFLY is at once one of the most beloved and most problematic works in the operatic canon. As IN Series takes on this sweeping work, we also invite wider conversations about the work’s difficult position in issues of race and gender, and how opera as an industry can more fully integrate these topics into both its work and its practice.

IN Series will be hosting two community conversations on the stage at SOURCE Theater, with a wide array of local artists, producers, colleagues from the Washington National Opera, and industry leaders. These events are free and open to the public. For more information you can call our box-office at 202-204-7763.
