Leawood Stage Company is pleased to host two performances by Actor’s Choice, a division of the Senior Barn Players. They will present Greater Kansas City Legends on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th at 2:00 pm each day. 

Greater Kansas City Legends will be held in the Oak Room in the Community Center on the lower level of Leawood City Hall, 4800 Town Center Drive. Enter through the north doors.

Senior actors will present first-person performances about famous people that shaped our local history. Join us for an insightful look at the lives of the forefathers, and foremothers of our region, represented by each actor. 

In June the Historic Oxford Schoolhouse hosted a first-person examination of famous figures by presented by Actor’s Choice. Now by popular demand, the series will continue. The Greater Kansas City Legends will include; Katherine Berry Richardson founder of Mercy Hospital, philanthropist “Colonel” Thomas Swope, Santa Fe Trail entrepreneur and Pony Express founder Alexander Majors, J. C. Nichols, developer of the Country Club Plaza, founder of the Guadalupe Center, Dorothy Gallager, Loula Long Combs, daughter of lumber baron R.A. Long, clothing designer and manufacturer Nelly Don and Jazz great Mary Lou Williams. 

Actor’s Choice, supported by the Senior Barn Players, presents challenging material to Kansas City audiences. Greater Kansas City Legends, directed by Sheilah Phillip, will feature seasoned local actors. 

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a free performance by Actor’s Choice. Meet the performers at a reception following the performance. Refreshments will be served.
