West Side Story Cast Bios

 

Tate Allen (Jet Diesel) is a junior at Gardner Edgerton High School and is involved in Madrigal’s, and Jazz Band. He is Drum Major for the marching band. His favorite performances have been in Wizard of Oz, Willie Wonka, and Oliver!  He is excited to be part of West Side Story.

 

Miranda Brand (Jetette) graduated from American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York where she studied musical theatre. She is very excited to join the cast of West Side Story in her LSC debut and hope to be in many shows in the future. She is a member of the KC troupe of the Murder Mystery Company. 

 

Camille Breckenridge (Sharkette Consuelo) enjoyed her experiences on the Leawood stage as Fred in Once Upon a Mattress and a Londoner in Sweeney Todd.  She was last seen at the Barn Players in The Crucible as a coven member, Alison/Anna in High Fidelity.  She is excited to be back at LSC and will be seen in the fall in Mame.

 

Paul Brennan III (Tony) is wicked excited to rejoin this talented LSC cast and crew after his Leawood debut in last summer’s Annie. Before moving to KCMO, he performed around Boston, MA in such favorite roles as Jerry in The Full Monty (The Company Theatre) and as Charlie Brown in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Massasoit Theater). Paul thanks Eric, Tim, Kristen, Alexa, and the rest of the amazing production team for this opportunity; and of course his real-life “Maria,” Suzanne. Finally, thank YOU for supporting local theater!

 

Chloe Browning (Jetette) is a sophomore at Blue Valley High School and is excited to make her LSC debut. Chloe has done many shows with local theaters as well as her school choir and dance. She hopes you enjoy the show. 

 

Elise Bowles (Sharkette) is thrilled to make her LSC debut. A student at Olathe South, she has been performing since the age of 7. Her favorite roles include Judas in Godspell and Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka. Elise would like to thank everyone involved for this wonderful experience.

 

Maddison Bragg (Jetette Grazielle )is very excited to be preforming her very first community show with LSC! Maddie will be a Junior at Olathe East High School and is a dancer and company member at crescendo conservatory. Maddie has been in many musicals before and will soon be in Mame with LSC and Bring It On with the Kansas state thespians musical. Maddie would like to thank her family and friends for the continuous support and her bunny Missy.

 

Caleb Chipman (Jet Big Deal) currently attends Kansas City Kansas Community College working toward and associates degree in theater design and technology. He would like to take his friend and family for all of their support.

 

Jennifer Coville-Schweigert (Anita) is honored to be making her LSC debut. I’d like to take a moment to reflect upon West Side Story and how we can apply it to today. “I cannot and will not judge, by what my eyes may see. For the skin on a man shall not reveal his true identity.” I hope this show resonates with all of you whether it be the first time or millionth time you have seen it. Let’s put our differences aside and be kind. She would like to thank Eric for giving her this opportunity and trusting her to give Anita life. She would also like to thank her supporting parents, her loving wife, two incredible children, and everyone for continuing to support the arts.

 

Lisa Earlenbaugh (Maria) is thrilled to be making her Leawood Stage Company debut! She is currently studying musical theatre and psychology at Evangel University. Lisa would like to thank her family, friends, and incredible boyfriend for the astounding amount of support they have given her in this process as well as the amazing LSC directing staff and cast for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

 

Caleb Ellis (Jet Riff) This is first show with LSC. Caleb is an acting major at Lindenwood University.  He would like to thank his parents, his girlfriend Anna, and his friends for constantly supporting him.

 

Mike Forsythe (Doc) is very happy to return to the stage after an almost four-year absence because of back surgery. His also excited by his first appearance with LSC, Thank you Eric for the opportunity.

 

Ryan Foster is a freshman at MidAmerica Nazarene University and he is happy and thrilled to be in his second ever musical with the wonderful West Side Story family. Other community shows included Anne of Green Gables, where he played the wonderful Moody McPherson, at OCTA directed by Heather Tinker.

 

Brian Hill (Glad Hand) After many years of attending his children’s productions, Brian has decided to try his hand at acting. Born and raised in south Kansas City, he is a business owner, entrepreneur, author and avid learner. He is happy to share the stage with his daughter Brittany.

 

Brittany Hill (Jetette) is excited to perform again on the LSC stage. She currently is pursuing a degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at Calvary University. Thank you to the awesome cast and crew for an amazing summer.

 

Edd Hingula (Shrank) I'm grateful to be repeating the role of Lt. Shrank from the last time Eric directed West Side Story, though it is my first stage appearance at LSC. I've also been lucky to have been in numerous other productions directed by Eric, and in community theaters around the country. Edd will next be seen in Bark! the Musical. Love and thanks to Teresa and all the family for their support while I've been running up and down from Leavenworth to Leawood.

 

Miguel Hunt (Shark) is excited to make his debut on the Leawood stage this summer. He is a recent graduate of SMNW and will be continuing his education at JCCC next semester. He was most recently seen on SMNW stage as Shawn (the waiter) in All in The Timing. He has enjoyed expanding his dance repertoire and hopes that you enjoy his stellar dance moves!

 

Drew Jones (Bernardo) this thrilled to be a part of this cast and show. Drew has been involved with the KC Renaissance Festival and City Theater of Independence. He would like to thank everyone involved and you, the theater patrons for your support. 

 

Amanda King (Jetette Velma) is excited to be back on stage in her second show with Leawood Stage Company. She has performed on stage with numerous companies around Kansas City. She is currently pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Jnkj

 

Madeline King (Jetette Anybody’s) will be a freshman at Olathe West this fall. Other credits include Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank and Tuptim in The King and I with The Culture House and Alice Wendleken in the Olathe Civic Theatre Association’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

 

Zoe Lepper (Sharkette Rosalia) is a sophomore at the University of Central Missouri studying Middle School Education with a focus on Speech and Theatre. Some of her recent roles include Molly in Faust Theatre’s Production of Band Geeks and Antigone in Missouri Southern State University’s production of Jean Anouilh’s Antigone. You can also catch her in Mame with LSC in November. She is thrilled to be a part of West Side Story!

 

 

Cameron Mabie is excited to be returning for his fourth show at Leawood after being seen in Sweeney Todd. You may have seen Cameron in Avenue Q and Grease with TTIP or A Christmas Carol with KC Rep. He will be going to Missouri State University for a BFA in Acting.

 

Luke Martin (Shark) is proud to make his theater debut in West Side Story. He will be a freshman at Olathe North High School.

 

Lily Muehlberger is very excited to be in West Side Story. She is an upcoming Senior at Blue Valley North and has recently been in Godspell, The Little Mermaid, and All Shook Up. She would like to thank everyone! Enjoy the show!

 

Sarah Navran (Sharkette Teresita) is thrilled to be making her LSC debut. Most recently, Sarah has performed with Starlight Theatre and Theatre in the Park. She studies dance at Miller Marley and voice with Stacey Uthe. Enjoy the show. 

 

Chris Pierce (Krupke) This is the fourth summer show Chris has appeared at Leawood Stage. This one is very special to him as two of his sons are also in the cast. In addition to appearing on stage, Chris also serves as Vice Chairman of the board of directors for the Stage Company. Thank you for supporting us and helping to make our 20th season a success. Joseph Pierce (Jet Snowboy) is going to be a sophomore at Kansas State University studying music education. West Side Story is his 17th production. He would like to thank his family and friends for their love and support. 

 

Michael Pierce (Jet A-Rab) is a junior at Saint Thomas Aquinas. This is his second show with LSC and his 18th production. He serves as a student advisor to the LSC board. Michael would like to thank his family, friends, cast, directors and most importantly God. 

 

Benjamin Priestland (Shark) an 8th grader at Cure' of Ars, is excited to make his LSC debut. He has performed at StageRight, KC Rep, MTKC, Perry-Mansfield Theatre Camp. This fall he will be seen in KC Rep's Last Days of Summer. He thanks God for the talent given him, the directors who have worked hard to make West Side Story a success and those who encourage him to do his best every day.

 

Sabrina Stewart is excited to be doing her first Leawood Stage Company show! Sabrina’s been performing since she was six years old and has participated in over 40 shows around the Kansas, North Carolina, and Michigan area. Some of her favorite roles have been Fiona in Shrek The Musical, Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, and Genie in Aladdin.

 

Jaggard Williams is studying to receive a BFA in Theatre Performance, a BS in Political Science, and a minor in dance at the University of Central Missouri. His most recent production was the Triangle Factory Fire Project with Summit Theatre Group.

 

Terrace Wyatt (Shark) is a third year Musical Theatre major at William Jewell College.  He has performed in theaters throughout the Kansas City area including Starlight, KCRep, The Coterie, MTKC and the Barn Players. He is a BroadwayWold KC nominee. MAMBO!

 

Michael Young (Jet Mouthpiece) is extremely excited to be in his third production with LSC! Some of his previous credits include A Christmas Carol at KCRep, and The Little Mermaid at Cure’ of Ars School. He’d like to thank everybody who has come to see the show!

 

West Side Story Staff Bios

 

Eric Van Horn(Director) has been active in theatre for over 40 years, as an actor, director, writer and technician. He has directed five prior shows with LSC; Brigadoon, Bye Bye Birdie, Nunsense, Watch on the Rine, and British Invasion and has directed in many local theaters. He was last seen on the LSC stage as Fagin in Oliver! and as Buffalo Bill in Annie Get Your Gun. He is LSC’s Tech Director and holds the same position with Theatre for Young America. He has served on several boards for local community theaters. He is the Midwest director of American Immersion Theater and can be seen in murder mysteries throughout the seven state region. He was honored to be selected to direct West Side Story, as he considers this show the pinnacle of his directing career.

 

Kristin Seefeld (choreography) is excited be bringing her choreography back to the Leawood stage! Past favorite credits include Bye Bye Birdie, The Wedding Singer, and Little Shop of Horrors. Kristin currently loves teaching and choreographing for Dance Expressions. A big thanks to Dave, Leona, Maggie, Emi, and all my family for your love and support!

 

Kenneth Tysic (Conductor) is returning for his third summer as director of the LSC orchestra. He is the director of bands at Maize Middle School located outside of Wichita. He holds music degrees from Wichita State University and Bowling Green State University. Kenneth’s conducting credits include: Once Upon a Mattress, Annie and In the Image. In the fall, Kenneth will be conducting Opera Kansas’ production of The Fantastic Mister Fox in Wichita. He is very excited to be conducting the biggest pit orchestra in LSC history. What a way to ring in the 20th year! A special shoutout to the orchestra members for being incredible musicians and wonderful people! Cheers!

 

Tim Braselton (Music Director) has been directing music for theaters and churches in the Kansas City area for over a decade and a half. As a composer, arranger, orchestrator, pianist, cellist and singer, he keeps himself busy performing, accompanying and writing. Tim is thrilled to be back at Leawood Stage Company in this landmark piece of American musical theatre commemorating Leonard Bernstein’s (on of Tim’s heros) birthday.

 

Alexa Edmonds (Stage Manager) will be a freshman this year at Johnson County Community College where she plans to study Technical Theatre and Computer Science. She has worked in the community with numerous companies as a technician and actor. Alexa is thankful for the opportunity to Stage Manage West Side Story.
