Athenaeum Library Book Sale

Book and Craft Sale

Saturday, December 2 through 30

10 AM-5:30 PM

Join us for our fun winter book sale in the Athenaeum studio in December. The book sale opens on Saturday, December 2 and will remain in the studio until the end of the month on Saturday, December 30. The Athenaeum Book Sale is always a joyful event. With hundreds of gently used books and CDs, there is bound to be something for everybody, especially the art lover. If not, just stop by and enjoy the ambiance of our lovely library with three galleries.

Donating Books

The Athenaeum accepts donations of gently used—or new—books of most genres, as well as CDs, DVDs, and jazz LPs, to be sold at our quarterly book sales. (A smaller selection is available during library hours year-round.) We do not accept donations of periodicals, text books, VHS, or non-jazz LPs. Any soiled or damaged books will not be accepted. We are also searching for more volunteers to help sort and price books and work the sales. Donations are taken on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or on other days by special arrangement). We appreciate donations of ten or more books to be delivered in bags or boxes. Please contact librarian Kathi Bower Peterson at (858) 454-5872 or kpeterson@ljathenaeum.org to make arrangements for a donation.
