Athenaeum Library Book Sale

Book and Craft Sale

Saturday, September 16

10 AM-4 PM

Join us for our fun fall book sale on the Athenaeum patio on September 16. The Athenaeum Book Sale is always a joyful event. With hundreds of gently used books and CDs, there is bound to be something for everybody, especially the art lover. If not, just stop by and enjoy the ambiance of our lovely library with three galleries. As an added treat, local author Katherine Porter will be signing her recently published book. Be sure to check out Sue Whitman’s art cards and paintings on the Portico during the same hours as the book sale, 10 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, September 16.

Two authors will be signing their new books:

Carlos Carrio from 11 am-1 pm, poetry entitled "the wine tasted sweeter in the paper cups"

Tamara Merrill from 1-3 pm, "Family Myths" the third volume of the Augustus Family Saga

Donating Books

The Athenaeum accepts donations of gently used—or new—books of most genres, as well as CDs, DVDs, and jazz LPs, to be sold at our quarterly book sales. (A smaller selection is available during library hours year-round.) We do not accept donations of periodicals, text books, VHS, or non-jazz LPs. Any soiled or damaged books will not be accepted. We are also searching for more volunteers to help sort and price books and work the sales. Donations are taken on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or on other days by special arrangement). We appreciate donations of ten or more books to be delivered in bags or boxes. Please contact assistant librarian Carol Buckley at (858) 454-5872 or to make arrangements for a donation.
