Student Visual Art Competition to Celebrate 100 Years of the Princess Theatre!
Can you imagine 100 Years? That’s a long time! What did people do for fun back in those “olden days?” Believe it or not – people went to the theater! They watched all kinds of performers – actors, singers, jugglers, dancers, musicians, storytellers, acrobats, comedy skits – just about anything that made people laugh and think and feel good about life.
Here’s Your Chance to show us what YOU Would Have Done If You Were On Stage in the spotlight at The Princess Theater – 100 years ago! Use your imagination! Maybe you already sing or draw or dance! You have so many talents! Maybe you would like to act or tell jokes or perform magic acts! You can win a prize for creating something we can see - a piece of visual art – your own masterpiece!
You can draw or paint a picture. You can make sock puppets or create a sculpture out of blocks or Playdoh or clay. You can use string and paper, cardboard or Styrofoam to make a hanging mobile or perhaps you like to cut and fold paper into origami or balloons into animals. The only limitation is it needs to be a 2D or 3D piece of wrok. We want to see something that shows us what you would like to perform or to see others perform on the Princess Theatre’s stage!
Every entry will be on display in the Theatre lobby on the day of the 100 Years at the Princess Variety Show! The winner of each category will receive free entry to any children’s movie in the next year with free popcorn, 4 tickets to the 100 Years at the Princess Variety Show on October 4, 2020! Plus, a photograph of your winning artwork will go on The Princess Theatre website!
Get creative and help us Celebrate 100 Years of The Princess!!
