The locals call it Kelley Road, but if you are coming to Frankfort from out of town, the Red Barn Summer Theatre is on East County Road 150S. As you approach, you will see the Red Barn in the distance, obscured slightly by old growth woods. Depending on the year, your road may be lined on both sides by tall fields of corn.
But soon you’ll notice the roof of the Red Barn, our illuminated sign, a billowing American flag and young people in red shirts waiting on the grass to guide you past the red cedars and lilac bushes into your parking space, right in front of the theatre.
If you require assistance or use a wheelchair, you’ll be directed straight up the driveway where you can park behind the Red Barn on concrete. There is a newly remodeled ramp that leads you directly into the theatre. An usher will be there to assist you.
We encourage everyone to come early and mingle with the crowd on the beautiful grounds of the Red Barn. Some nights there will be live music on the lawn, but every night there will be a beautiful sunset. If you enjoy picnics, we encourage you to bring your friends and tailgate before the show. If you call ahead, the box office staff can assist you with a great parking spot for tailgating in the country.
As it nears the 7:30 p.m. showtime and you already have your tickets, you can go directly to the lobby. If you need to purchase tickets, the box office staff will be waiting at the outside window to take care of you. Inside the lobby, surrounded by Red Barn memorabilia, you will find our refreshment stand with drinks and small snacks, just in case you are thirsty after your drive.
When you hear the big black farm bell ring outside, it’s showtime! That is your que to head for your seats. The staff and company of the Red Barn is excited to have you here. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.
