Q: How many guests can the theater accommodate for a wedding reception?

The Suffolk Theater can accommodate up to 320 guests for a wedding reception.  

 

Q: Is there a guest minimum requirement?  

We require a minimum of 125 guests for weddings except for Saturdays in which we require 150 guest minimum.  

 

Q: How many weddings does The Suffolk Theater have in one day?

The theater only hosts one wedding per day!  

 

Q: Can The Suffolk Theater accommodate a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception?

The theater can accommodate a ceremony on stage for up to 200 people.  We love to host our cocktail hours in our upstairs balcony deco lounge for a more intimate experience and receptions for up to 320 guests on the main theater floor.  

 

Q: Does the theater have any outdoor space for photographs?

Conveniently the theater is located across the street from the Peconic River which provides a beautiful back drop for outdoor wedding shots.

 

Q: What are the timeframes for wedding?

The theater usually allots 30 minutes for a ceremony, 1 hour for the cocktail hour and 4 hours for the reception.  Timeframes are flexible with day and evening weddings available.  More time can be added for an additional cost.  Just remember nothing good happens after 1am!

 

Q: What type of seating does the theater offer?

Guests are able to choose from two types of seating, Cabaret and Gatsby.  Cabaret tables are smaller tables of 4, with some combinations of up to 8 people.  They create a casual 1933 supper club atmosphere, great for cocktail style wedding receptions.  Gatsby seating is your larger traditional 60” or 72” round tables which can accommodate 8-12 people.  Gatsby seating is available for a small upcharge.

 

Q: Who is the Chef at The Suffolk Theater?

Matt Kar is the Executive Chef of The Suffolk Theater.  Matt comes to us after many successful years as chef of The Jamesport Country Kitchen and Jamesport Manor Inn.  He's received Borrowed and Blue's 2017 Gold Choice Award and the 2017 Couples Choice Award from Wedding wire.  All cuisine is prepared at The Suffolk Theater.  Most importantly options are very flexible and personalized to you!  It's unlikely there's something he can't do, just ask!  Upgrades and additions are available upon request for an additional fee. 

 

Q: Can I bring my band or DJ to perform at the theater?

Absolutely!  However, all outside vendors must meet all insurance requirements!  We require entertainment to tie into our state of the art system for the full theater experience!  Production staff will be onsite to help with entertainment transitions and requirements!

 

Q: Is there a rental fee?

The theater does not charge a rental fee, however we do charge a production fee which will include lighting, visuals and sound.

 

Q: Can your caterer accommodate specials requests with allergies, dietary restrictions or kosher requests?

Absolutely!  We need to know about allergies and restrictions as soon as possible.  Kosher is available upon request!

 

Q: Does the theater provide a tasting for couples?

Tasting are available upon request, however only after signing a contract.  We allow up to 4 people for the tasting.  We encourage the tastings be done within a 3-4 month timeframe of the wedding.  Our chef utilizes seasonal and local fare so it would only make sense to make your selections closer to your wedding day.  

 

Q: Is the wedding cake included?

We do not include weddings cakes in our offering at this point in time.  You are more than welcome to outsource a cake as long as it is coming from an insured bakery or we can make recommendations on local vendors!

 

Q: I don’t see any packages on the website, why is that?

We try to cater to the couples needs as much as possible, for that reason we do not require that a package is chosen.  Everything is customizable.  We are happy to provide options, suggestions and guidelines but ultimately we want to know exactly what you want!  

 

Q: What vendors can I use at The Suffolk Theater?

Here at the theater we feel it’s important we allow you to choose your vendors based on your budget and personal preference however all vendors must meet insurance requirements in order to be permitted into the theater.

 

Q: Are there hotel accommodations near the theater?

We are lucky to have so many options and more importantly options in every price point for out of town guests!  The theater is in walking distance to the Hyatt East End and Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn can be reached by car in less than 5 minutes.  For those looking for the North Fork experience there are tons of bed and breakfasts within 10 minutes of the theater!

 

Q: What is the parking situation at the theater?

Valet parking is available for an additional cost.  If you choose not to do valet, guests are able to park in the municipal lot directly in front of the theater or behind the theater.  There is free two hour parking right on Main Street.

 

Q: Is there a bridal suite?

Couples will have access to both our green room and our VIP area.  The green room is equipped with a full vanity for hair and makeup, 2 restrooms, a kitchenette with fridge, and a sofa.  The VIP room has access to view the entire theater through an overlooking window and is conveniently located near the deco lounge bar.

 

Q: Is there anyone to help the bride and groom on the day of the wedding?

Yes of course!  If not Nicole, it’s someone helping her!  As for the ceremony and reception, Nicole has not missed a wedding yet!  She or her assistant will be there to execute everything discussed during the entire planning process!  

 

Q: Is the theater handicap accessible?

There are areas of the theater that are handicap accessible, with access to the bar, restroom, and coat room.  There are other areas of the theater that can be accessed with handicap accessible ramps.  Unfortunately the balcony deco lounge is not handicap accessible.  

 

Q: Why can’t I get pricing via email?

Weddings at the theater are extremely customizable and therefor there are several options to discuss in order to share accurate pricing.  A phone call or a meeting always helps when it comes to determining these numbers!

 

Q: When can I tour the theater?

Appointment dates and times are flexible, please just ask!  There are some restrictions because of weekend shows and sound checks, but we do the best to accommodate your schedule!

 

Q: Can I have my rehearsal dinner at the theater?

Because we are first and foremost a performing arts venue, there are often times where we have a show the day before a wedding.  We handle rehearsal dinners on a case by case basis, so please just ask!  If we cannot accommodate it, there are several restaurants within walking distance to the theater!

 

Q: Would you consider Riverhead as a destination area for my wedding weekend?

Riverhead has so much to offer and is conveniently located right between the North and South Fork!  Local attractions include Atlantis Marine Aquarium, Tanger Outlets Shopping Center, over 50 wineries and breweries, All-Star Bowling Alley, Splish Splash Water Park,  100’s of fabulous bars and restaurants, beaches, and more!  There’s plenty to do and fun for all ages!
