Holmes and Watson by Jeffrey Hatcher 
Sep 26 (Thurs.); Oct. 4 (Fri.), 11 (Fri.) 10:15 AM, $14.50

The same production as the Mainstage version, with a shorter intermission. Which of three madmen is the renowned detective Sherlock Holmes, back from “the dead”? Join Holmes and see if he can figure out the clues to save his friend. Students will enjoy a plot that is full of literary and theatrical devices and a pure thrill ride from beginning to end!

 

 

El Día de los Muertos by the Latin Ballet of Virginia
Oct. 22-25 (T-F) 10:15 AM, $14.50

The colorful celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) returns to the Mill with nonstop culture, dance, and song. A production of the Latin Ballet of Virginia and presented by Swift Creek Mill, this hauntingly beautiful show is based on the Mexican holiday which brings communities together to remember and celebrate loved ones who have passed. El Día de los Muertos (day of the dead) is a celebration of one of the most traditional Mexican festivities. This Aztec ritual and commemoration started at least 3,000 years ago. It is a festive interaction that embraces the cycle of life.

 

 

Drifty’s Naughty or Nice List by Paul Deiss 
Dec. 2 – 20 (M-F) 10:15 AM and Noon, $9.75

The "Naughty or Nice" list is missing, and Private Ivan Einstein is on the case. Drifty the Snowman gets to help investigate, which means everyone ends up a suspect – even Mrs. Claus. Feeling left out, Drifty then tries to get himself on the list of suspects. Pepita the Elf manages to defuse the situation by challenging Ivan to a dance-off, which is a bit unfair since her tap shoes are enchanted with Santa's magic.

 

 

Daddy Long Legs by John Caird and Paul Gordon
Jan 27 (Mon.), 29 (Tues.); Feb. 3 (Mon.) 10:15 AM, $14.50

The same production as the Mainstage version, with a shorter intermission. This award-winning musical is based on the classic novel by the same name. An orphan girl is sent to college by an anonymous benefactor with the requirement that she write to him every month. Through life at college and a budding romance, she encounters experiences that will forever change her, but will she ever learn the identity of the man who has given her this new life?

 

 

Unsung Heroes by Tom Width and Paul Deiss
Feb. 10-28 (M-F) 10:15 AM, $9.75

What does it mean to be a hero? One life at a time, step by step, history unveils new stories. Come with us as we explore the achievements of some of the African-American individuals you may have never heard about who have helped to make this country great, and learn how anyone – even a kid! – can be a hero in her own neighborhood. 

 

 

Chicken Little on the Farm by Tom Width and Paul Deiss

Apr. 6 – May 8 (M-F) 10:15 AM and Noon, $9.75
It’s Springtime in the barnyard, and Chicken Little has just found out that the sky didn’t really fall – that was just an acorn that hit him on the head last Autumn… and now that acorn is growing into something much bigger. In fact, the entire barnyard is full of growing things: baby plants and baby animals, too. Join Chicken Little and his friends on the farm for some fun!
