Pied Piper Children’s Theatre - Lockdown Series
For the last 30 years, Historic Thalian Hall has welcomed all of New Hanover County’s first and second grade students to experience live musical theatre as part of a curriculum-based arts program.
Now, in these strange times, Pied Piper Theatre is making the move to the airwaves and the internet to be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. Over the next several weeks, in partnership with New Hanover County on NHC-TV and The City of Wilmington on GTV, we will be broadcasting recordings of our past performances.
Performances will air every Thursday, Saturday, and Monday at 10am through August 10th on NHC-TV (NHCTV can be viewed throughout New Hanover County on Spectrum channels 13 or 192 and Charter channels 5 and 192) and also every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9 AM and 3PM on City of Wilmington's GTV (Channel 8) Check out the schedules below.
These performances are meant for children so they are only 45 minutes long. Performances will also be available on Thalian Hall’s YouTube channel very soon!
Pied Piper Theatre plans to perform again at Historic Thalian Hall in January 2021 with the premiere of Steve Cooper's Bossy and the Bard. Bossy the Cow will take on William Shakespeare when she is cast in Shakespeare in the Park. This new play by Steve Cooper will premiere for the New Hanover County Schools next year.
If you are able, please support Thalian Hall as we cultivate the theatre loves of the future through our Pied Piper outreach. With your help, this important program will continue to provide access to the performing arts to children - many who otherwise wouldn’t experience the magic of theatre and live performance.
