This year’s Thalian Hall Pied Piper Theater production of “Aladdin” is not to be missed Sunday, January 28th at 3pm.

The upbeat original musical comedy by Steve Cooper is loosely based on one of the favorite Tales of the Arabian Nights. The beloved story follows the adventures of Aladdin who finds a special lamp and a very powerful genie.

The musical introduces us to a charming street urchin named, Aladdin, who discovers a lamp in the magical cave of wonders. When Aladdin rubs the lamp a genie appears an offers him three wishes.

Aladdin’s ultimate wish is to be a prince so he can marry a princess.

Pied Piper Theater’s “Aladdin,” directed by Judy Greenhut, features some of Wilmington’s most talented actors, and includes a delightful musical score that includes some sing along songs. This is musical theater at its best and fun for the entire family.

In addition to the one public performance on Sunday, January 28th at 3pm, Thalian Hall’s Pied Piper Theater productions are known for something else. Each year for more than a quarter of a centuy, thousands of first and second graders in New Hanover County schools are bused to the historic theater at no cost thanks to the generosity of Thalian Hall sponsors. Many of these children are seeing a theatrical production for the first time.

Make sure you and your family see this wonderful musical come to life on Thalian Hall’s Main Stage!

Tickets for the public performance are on sale now at the Thalian Hall Box office in person at 310 Chestnut Street, by phone 910 632-2285, or online: www.thalianhall.org
