Whittier Community Theatre has been in continuous operation since 1922, making it the oldest non-profit amateur theatre west of the Mississippi. In 1960, the City of Whittier opened the Center Theatre, which is now the home stage of WCT. Whittier Community Theatre presents a four-show season in the attractive, refurbished 396-seat Center Theatre and strives to provide its audiences with quality theatrical productions for nominal prices.
While WCT aims to keep you updated with our current productions, we highly suggest that you visit our website for tickets and box office information and opportunities to become members or donors. You will also find information on auditions and our current season, an archive every production by WCT, a list of our generous sponsors, and a link to help you get an advertisement for your business in every program printed for our theatre.
In compliance with California Department of Public Health, County of Los Angeles, and the City of Whittier, Whittier Community Theatre will be canceling our production of "Noises Off" scheduled to perform in May and June of this year. The auditions, which were scheduled for April 6th and 7th have been canceled.
We are heartbroken that our audiences will not be able to enjoy this show, but the health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance. At this time we are planning our next season to run as scheduled, starting in September 2020.
Current season ticket holders will be sent an additional exchange ticket for the 2020-2021 season. If we all work together, we will overcome this crisis and come out stronger.
Thank you for your understanding and support for Whittier Community Theatre.
