Get the whole picture with Instrumentally Speaking, the WSO’s pre-concert talks.


These interesting and informative talks are held an hour before the start of each Masterworks, Intimate Classics, and Classics in the County series concerts.

Talk are led by WSO Music Director Maestro Franz or by WSO Associate Conductor Peter Wiebe and frequently feature musicians, guest artists, composers, and other special guests. The talks are free with your concert ticket and provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about the music about to be presented.


Masterworks Concerts - Pre-Concert Talks begin at 7:00 p.m. inside the Capitol Theatre.

Intimate Classics Concerts - Pre-Concert Talks begin at 1:30 p.m. in Assumption Hall.

Classics in the County - Pre-Concert Talks begin at 6:30 p.m. at Leamington United Mennonite Church.

WSO Music Education Series - How to Listen To & Understand Great Music


Amici Musicae is a group of people who share a great interest in the arts, music in particular.  Everyone is welcome - just bring an inquisitive mind and the desire to meet new friends!  These events are free, though donations to the WSO are accepted and appreciated!  Your donations will support the WSO's education and outreach programs in our community.   


An opportunity for classical music lovers to deepen their knowledge of music begins again on Monday, September 25th, 2017, from 1:30pm-3:30pm. For six weeks, course participants will explore how music affects the brain. With the cooperations of The Great Courses, the WSO will be hosting a series of lectures, both live and pre-recorded, on the following topics:
